Mulan has been my favourite animation since a little child. I have probably seen it more times than I could count on my fingers and I still love it even as an adult. What's the most crucial part about this animated film is how many moral points it covers in the span of 90 minutes and all the lessons a child could extract from the situations taking place in there. It has taught me to be brave and to fight for what I want. It has taught me to be kind to others. It has taught me that even the most unexpected and spontaneous choice can bring to your true purpose in life. It is the kind of animation that touches upon a majority of values which is why I have collected ten of my favourite quotations from the film. Some of them are humorous, some of them are wise, some of them are reflections of situations. I hope you enjoy them!

1) "When will my reflection show who I am inside?" - Mulan

2) "What beautiful blossoms we have this year. But look. That one is late but I'll bet that when it blooms it will be the most beautiful of all." - Fa Zhou

3) "Let's get down to business." - General Li

4) "Maybe what I really wanted was to prove that I could do things right. So that when I looked in the mirror, I'd see someone worthwhile." - Mulan

5) "Let's go kick some honey buns." - Mushu

6) "No matter how the wind howls, the mountain cannot bow to it." - The Emperor

7) "The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all." - The Emperor

8) "A single grain of rice can tip the scale. One man may be the difference between victory and defeat." - The Emperor

9) "The greatest gift and honour is having you for a daughter." - Fa Zhou

10) "Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness." - a Chineese proverb (Although this one is not from Mulan, I still find it quite suitable for the topic so it felt like I had to add it.)

Which is your favourite quotation from Mulan? Perhaps there is another animation that you have grown up with and from which you have learned multiple moral lessons? I would be happy to hear about it! So don't hesitate to leave a comment below.
