Stone Sour in Bulgaria - It's All Downhill from Here

When I was twelfth grade I remember how much I wanted to see Stone Sour live, to hear Corey Taylor singing songs like "Bother" for all the audience, to be charged with all the energy that comes from a band like that. The show took place in Sofia, Inter Expo Centre, on 27th June. So now I'm so happy to say that I finally had the chance to attend and it was so much more than I had expected. Unfortunately, the photos from the first half of the concert were accidentally erased and now I don't have many pictures to share with you but as a friend of mine said, it's much more important that I got to witness it.

To begin, the first band that started the show was a Bulgarian one and they are called Dash the Effort. It felt nice to see Bulgarians performing on the stage and warming up for the following bands. I have got to admit that I could barely understand anything of the vocals, probably due to the loud music, but the music was quite nice to listen to. As a whole, they were a bit too hard metal for me, but you might like them depending on your taste.
The next band, however, were absolutely bad-ass! They are called Nothing More and it felt like the stage exploded with them the moment they showed up. They are an American group from Texas and they seemed extremely well collaborated. There was this chemistry while they were performing - while one of them was directed towards one part of the audience, the others were engaging the rest of it. I fell in love with them!

Their music was a breath of fresh air, not something you hear every day. The vocalist's voice was literally WTF. I could listen to him for an unspecified period of time. What I loved the most about them, though, was how the whole performance was as if they were performing not only a music show but a theatre one at the same time.

On the stage, there was this "time machine" (as a friend of mine called it) which they included very craftily. There was a moment when they were all playing on the same guitar, with the addition of drums which was simply unique. Probably my favourite part of their performance. I will certainly be listening to them a lot more in the future and if they decide to come and have their own show in Bulgaria, I will be buying a ticket for sure.

Finally, we come to the main performance of the night - Stone Sour. Their was such an unbelievable hype from everybody. On the negative side, people started pushing each other so that they could see. There were some who were half naked, making a circle and jumping and pushing each other in it, which was a bit uncomfortable. But we should have expected that considering we were in the front lines.

However, on the positive side, the audience was loaded with emotions. Everyone was singing along with Corey. When he was talking in-between the songs, it felt like he was the narrator of a film. Such a unique voice! The songs they performed were from all of their albums, not only from "Hydrograd" and they were all amazing. I'm thrilled that they played all of my favourite tracks. Corey even sang "Bother" acoustically but the audience was joining in so loudly that you could barely hear him. There were moments in which everyone was going crazy. I still can't believe how loud we all were. Then in the end, there was "Through Glass" which was in my opinion the most exciting and magical moment of their concert. The more you listened to it, the more it felt like you were part of a different world, with the spotlight on you because you were there to actually witness it come to life. We didn't let them finish with that song anyway, so there was one final addition before the concert ended.

Overall, it was absolutely memorable to see all of these bands performing live. That was a night that will stay with me throughout my entire life, pretty much like the first Hills of Rock will be with me forever. Some experiences are just so vivid and thrilling that they remain inside of your mind and never let vanish.
P.S: If you haven't heard of the festival Hills of Rock yet and you wonder what it's like, you can check my review of it.
